Come on Fight it Tibet!!!!
Come on fight it Tibet . ..This is probably the best and the last chance for you to get noticed big. With the olympics coming up, China will be very cautious in its every move. And the entire world have their cameras towards that olympic torch. Make sure the torch does not come in through Tibet, just a symbolic gesture.
Come on fight it Tibet.... I know how peace loving you are, but its now inevitable. The Dalai Lama is getting old , after him no one would even care about Tibet. So make sure you get yourselves heard this one last time.
Come on fight it Tibet.... Make sure you protest , but let it be non violent, coz that is what you stand for. Infact all the Tibetans in India and around the world can also make a difference by raising their voices there.Make sure the you get your voices heard. It might really not make too much of a difference as the World is too selfish. Everyone is interested in China. Nobody wants to make China angry[India included].All countries have their interests. But atleast let it be a try.
May the Buddha be with you,in the peaceful protests and may He smile.

Friedberg
I have been in Germany for 2 months now, but hardly found time to write about it.Have been very busy :( . So now is the time to blab about my small sunday evening trip to Friedberg.
There is this 2 compartment train that goes the other way from Friedrichsdorf to Friedberg.Though I knew nothing about it I always wanted to know how it was in Friedberg. Something like the Ruskin Bond story where he wants to get down in a remote station just to see how it will be.....'Time Stops at Shamli'..i think.
Ok...the point is on Sunday evening,me and Logey,my friend decided to go and check it out.So bought the tickets and sat in the 2 compartment train. I really enjoyed the journey.Hardly 30 minutes. And we reached Friedberg.
Just went around the place....it was raining a bit and lot of wind.We walked round and round. Then stopped in a coffee place. It was a small place, importantly it was warm.It was like in the movies. There were 2 couples were sitting. As soon as we sat ,the hostess lit a candle on the table.Ordered hot milk coffee and croissants in my broken Deutsche. She was really amused and pleased. It was great ,having hot coffee in a warm place. And when we were leaving she almost kissed us bye :)(In expressions ofcourse)
Then we walked around in the stormy weather, spoke on lot of things and then came back. So...I donno if 'Time stopped at Friedberg', but it felt good.

A Tear to the Trees On G.N Chetty Road
If you had recently passed through G.N,Chetty Road in T.Nagar, you would have noticed how different and ugly it looks. Reason????....Most of the trees are cut down to make way for a "not so much needed" flyover at Vani Mahal Signal. These trees are so old and so beautiful. I heard there was a case in the court, but then the court decided to compensate else where. I wonder which is the real "Shingara Chennai".I feel so bad every time I see the chopped down trees....so felt like telling it.Thats all. :-(

Well Commented!!!
I recently read this long discussion on slashdot on commenting the code. There were people saying 'dont comment your code ,only then people willcome back and ask you and you become important'.
Shocking???Yes but there are a frustrated & insecure few who feel the same. But looking at the larger issue, I think everyone is for commenting. But the big questions are
1. How to comment(Format)
2. How much to comment.
The first point on the format to comment is pretty much standarised. It is either defined at the project level or the technology level. There are doc toolsand ide's that help in this.
The second question on how much to comments is the big complex one. Acode with excess comment by no means becomes a 'well commented code'. Toomany comments is annoying and distracts you from thinking. In large and long projects, the comments very often dont match what the code does. Yes this is true. Many times the code gets changed but not the comments. So what is the useof the comments??Ok ,the comments dont decide what the program does.It is the code that tells the truth. The comments just help you to get 'in flow'.Thats what my mentor used to tell me.'Remember,You Are Writing Code For People,NOT Computers. You write code that is self documented.'
Self Documented??? That is giving the variable and method proper names which by themselves describe what they are doing. Writing the code in the least complicated way.Hence think before you code. Its easier said than done.Very often you need to fix problems before a deadline and hence becomes very difficult to do all this.
One more thing I want to add is commenting small things. I mean in a thousandlines of code ,someone adds a line to check for null, and they comment it
// Checked for Null by Name(id) Date
if(loValue!=NULL) //Check if loValue is not Null Do something...
I mean if people start adding their names for all these triffle things the sizeof the file starts becoming ugly.I know its nice to have your name all around the code. But then there is a limit.Unless the code is getting changed in flow or it happens to be someone elses code,I think all minor changes can go without this.
But again the question as to what is major and minor is something to think about. Finally I think the code you write should be legible enough so that its easy to maintain.I think every coder takes pride in it.

Happy New Year
Its New Year and time to reflect on the past year. This year started great, bcos I was learning the wonderful world of Java,EJB's and Patterns and what not.So learning wise I should say it started of great. But there was a part when I felt very bored and not so comfortable and did not enjoy anything. I dont know why, but that was for sometime.Cos in the middle I just started to feel lost in a big crowd. But the bestpart was the little angel, my neice.Everyday I came back home and I forgot office. She started to walk and talk this year. She was so naughty and she took all my time other than work. Another thing I did was startingto learn the flute. Its good. I havent learnt it well enough but I enjoy doing it and hopefully I ll continue it this year. Then I got my touch back in the middle of the year. I did a lot of new things at work. I got the freedom to try out my ideas.I also had nice friends. So all was fine.On the whole I thinkit was a ok-good year at work, and a great year wrt to my time at home.
This year is going to be a different one,the angel has gone to meet her daddy. So will be atleast 6 months more to see her,by which time she would have grown more. One thing that was missing this year is travel. I hope I do some of that this year.
So its a new year ....lets see.

Oh Captain.....
There is just too much being said about Ganguly these days. All this for a man who brought the team to a competitive level and groomed a number of youngsters for 4 + years.
It is very unlikely that Saurav will ever make it in the team again.(This was written before the test team selection.)But he will always be remembered for few things like…
Aggression….
Motivating and bringing up youngsters…..
Bringing the ‘We Can Do it ‘ attitude while playing abroad….
Tit-For-Tat when it comes to sledging…
Playing into the Mind of the opposition (Even Australia was a victimRemember Steve Waugh waiting for the toss)
Kudos Saurav…..U did well in a difficult period, when sachin gave up….u handled it great.
Please Please ….dont beg for a place .You are much bigger for that. Just keep playing well
And if you get a chance OK otherwise write a book. Join ESPNStar sports.
Whatever….Be a Tiger till the end...That will be being yourself.
PS : Saurav also quit from Captaincy of Bengal…He asked Deep Das Gupta to be made Captain.
